Hubballi: ASI Passes Away After Flyover Rod Accident; 11 Booked for Negligence

Hubballi: Assistant Sub Inspector Naabiraj Dayannavar, who suffered severe injuries after a rod fell from an under-construction flyover near Old Court Circle, passed away on Sunday. Dayannavar, attached to the Sub Urban police station, sustained critical head injuries when the rod struck him while workers were active on the flyover on the evening of September 10. He was promptly transferred to KIMS for treatment but, unfortunately, did not respond to medical care and died on Sunday evening.
In response to the incident, police have filed charges against 11 employees of Jandu Construction Company, including supervisors, engineers, crane operators, and labor contractors. Those booked include Harsha Hosaganiger (supervisor), engineers Jitendrapal Devakrishna and Bhupendra Pal Sri Maharaj Singhh, and workers Mohammed Imadur Saharul Miya, Md Masudu Rehman, Sabib Shaik, Rizaul, Shamim, Md Arif, Aslam Jalilmiya (crane operator), and Md Rabiull Haq (labor contractor).
The investigation revealed that the workers were operating on the flyover without implementing safety measures and failed to close the road to vehicular traffic. The police have charged the accused with negligence and are in the process of apprehending additional individuals connected to the case.
